Та си мисля, че Бербатов е осъден да остане в подножието на върха. Давам му още 18 месеца в Юнайтед. Още 6 месеца, до края на сезона, за да го разкрие Сър Алекс напълно. После една година да търка пейката и това беше. Не защото е лош футболист – напротив, добър е. А защото не работи достатъчно за отбора си.

И друго за което не съм писал – страшно се кефа на Стилиян Петров в Астън Вила. Ей това е як футболист – и талант, и здрава работа.

24 hours after the agonizing game against Stoke, sitting in a cozy hotel room in Paris, I can’t help but regret for what-could-have-been moments in this last game.

I am a bad loser, but over time I have learned to keep my fan emotions down when LFC lose or games do not go their way. That’s life 🙂 In addition, one thing I specifically hate is complain about referees decisions. It’s done – get over it. It is kind of hard considering English referees are probably the worst out of the top European leagues but well – it is, what it is.

I also like Paul Tomkins’ commentaries around LFC games. He is smart, has no knee-jerk reactions and generally I very much share his opinion on our favorite team. Another thing we share is that in his texts, he never complains about referees. Pretty impressive if you ask me 🙂

Today is different. I have just read this article he posted on his site and man, do I agree with him. I already got over all of the terrible decisions that went against LFC this season, but one thing I haven’t noticed – really how come the top referees in England are not refereeing LFC games? While jokes that are worst than Bulgarian referees like Lee Mason are constantly assigned to our games??

PS. And gee, I am sick of all of this sack Benitez thing. Being a manager myself, I can only have sympathy for the guy. He should be in charge of the team until next January. If by next January the things are bad – he should be sent out. Not before that.

So another disappointing game. And this one was worse than all others this season. To see the team playing so well in the first half, on top of Arsenal all over the pitch and then the second half an absolutely different affair is so hurting.

For whatever reasons, the confidence in the players is missing. You could see after Arsenal went up that Liverpool players given up. They were no longer chasing the ball, no longer aggressively in the faces of the opposition. In the last 10 minutes the play was like Arsenal were chasing the game, not Liverpool. And this is really, really disappointing 🙁

Of course, the fact that the game was officiated by the worse referee in English football really didn’t help. Howard Webb, definitely harmed both teams giving non existing fouls and waving obvious ones. He is a shame for the referees in England. Anyway – we haven’t lost because of the referee but it was frustrating for me to watch the team being outplayed in the last 40 minutes and also to watch this joke of a referee.

Anyway. So it will be hard battle to win the 4th. We will see how it goes.

Now after 4 days of reading all the bullshit in the media regarding if Henry is a cheat or not, if Ireland vs. France should be replayed or not, I have to say – the whole discussion is nonsense.

23 years ago, as young kid cheering for England I was in shock looking at how Maradona scored the infamous “God’s hand” goal. It took me quite some time to realize and comprehend why he did it and why he hasn’t confessed he scored with a hand.

Soccer players are humans. Mare humans. And humans cheat. For whatever reasons. It is not nice. It is not good. But humans cheat. As logic tells you, being humans, the soccer players cheat too. And in a matter of fact they have much better reasons to do so. Missing a World Cup? Not if you control a ball with your hand and pass for an open play goal.

Great players are actually more likely to cheat than ordinary players. Look at this fact – you are becoming a great not because you have a great talent. But because you have the extra edge will to win. The extra edge to win no matter what. It is the same in all areas of human life – the best will reach the top because they have the extra edge.

Look around. Look into the history books. Tell me – how many of the greatest people that lived and walked the face of the earth were also decent human beings. Not too many, I can assure you.

So doing what Henry did on Wednesday, doesn’t make him a cheat. Doesn’t make him less of footballer. It makes him one of the gray many human beings that are not great at heart. And this is not that much of a fault. It is extremely hard to have THAT edge.

Just to put the things into soccer perspective. Do you remember 1986? Do you remember what sort of terror Maradona was put against? How much he suffered out of the the kicks of his opponents. Not many of them were properly judged by the referees. Do you remember 2001? When Henry twice was denied by a goal line HAND clearance of Stéphane Henchoz and eventually because of that Liverpool won the FA cup in this glorious for us season. I don’t remember any of us, the Liverpool fans, complaining from that. And does anyone remember how Republic of Ireland, yes the very same Republic of Ireland won against Georgia? With a controversial penalty that merely existed? I don’t remember any of them asking for reply back then 🙂

That’s part of the game. Period. The REAL problem is at a different place.

It is FIFA and UEFA.

We live in a time when soccer is being played at extreme pace. It is expected that referees will do mistakes. They do them all the time. It is normal. Gee – 4 weeks ago, 4 referees at the Stadium of Light didn’t know that the goal Sunderland scored should have been disallowed. Everyone thought that the penalty against Ngog last game for Liverpool was stonewall, until we saw the replays.

Referees are also humans. They can’t see it all. And it is time to use video replays. As simple as that.

It will not happen soon though 🙂 Not until Blatter and Platini are in charge.

But this is the real solution. Not replaying a game that already ended. And branding one of the great footballers of our time “a cheat”. He is just a human. Di Canios and Fowlers in this world are not that much 🙂

So Liverpool won against ManU. For a third consecutive time. Kind of feels great 🙂

But I don’t get it. Why should Michael Owen be treated the way he was? Yeah – I am a foreigner and I don’t understand the relationship between the Liverpool and Manchester. Yeah – I am foreigner and probably I don’t understand the relationship between the clubs (or hatred should I say? :)). But how can we (OK I am a LFC supporter too, so I will include myself too) treat someone that gave so much to the club with so much hate?

I mean, common. Back before Rafa arrived, it was Owen that was the main reason that helped Liverpool being some sort of force. Remember 2001? It was Owen who brought us all the cups.

So why do we hate Owen? Because he is a Manc? Really? Did he had a choice? So let’s see – he had no club. He had “injury prone” label and media against him. He got a call from, the most successful English club in recent times (we are still most successful ever but …) and what is he supposed to do, turn them down?? Really? I mean – players are not fans. Soccer is their bread and butter. It is how they make a living. It is how they achieve their professional goals.

So in case you are out of job Linux system administrator, with a reputation of failure and you receive a call from Microsoft for a job there, you are supposed to decline? I mean, yeah right.

We should respect (and I surely do) Owen for all he gave to the club. Yes, he left on bad terms as a coward but this was his choice. Live and let live. That’s my credo – Real Madrid affair cost him too much anyway 🙂 I just hoped he received a better reception – after all I don’t think he did any crime by joining the mancs. And hey – he didn’t score yesterday 🙂

Преди 6 месеца, Ливърпул победи МанЮ и така 8 мача преди края на първенството беше на 7 точки от Юнайтед. Всички журналисти до един почнаха да обясняват как моите хора имат шанс за титлата и ееей сега ще минат Юнайтед.
В събота Лъвърпул падна от Съндърланд и вече е на … ъъъъъ … 7 точки от Юнайтед с около 30 мача до края на първенството. Всички журналисти до един почнаха да обясняват как моите хора нямат ама абсолютно никакъв шанс за титлата и ееей сега требе да се откажат.
А аз само се чеша по главата и се чудя 🙂

Макар, че да, и аз смятам че моите хора няма да станат шампиони тази година. Но просто защото, тази година, поради някаква причина, малките неща които могат да обърнат каруцата винаги я обръщат при нас. В първият мач срещу Тотнъм, 200% дузпа срещу Воронин не е дадена и вместо да вземем точка в мач в който играеме трагично (което е супер за самочувствието), ние падаме. За справка, същото единоборство БЕШЕ дадено като дузпа ама срещу Ливерпул като играхме със Уест Хям. Just one of those things 🙂 В събота пак – победиха ни с гол който по правилата на футбола трябва да бъде отменен. Да бе – пак бяхме слаби, ама правилата са си правила 🙂 Тъпо е малко. А за капак, най-добрите ни играчи са в слаба форма…

Както и да е – шансове имаме. Но Фортуна не е с нас, така че, това няма да е годината. Уви.

България:
Ееей, даже не ми е кеф да се избъзикам с Левски. Че те милите копират чорбата от миналата година. Но друуго искам да кажа – Черноморец. Ей това е. Там е примерът как трябва да се работи – спокойно, в дългосрочен план. А не като в нашите “грандове”. Много се кефа на Черномороец. Пожелавам им да станат шампиони.

Малта:
Еееей, брато бележи във втори пореден мач, а вчера даже и играч на мача. Ама тъпото, че не бият. Нищо – поне до края на сезона, неговия тим са шампионите. А то ва си беше чудо.
