Гледам мачовете и си мисля. Добре че световното се случва само на 4 години. Така може да се забрави колко скучно е било предното и да се радваме на скуката на новото с рази като “най-скучното световно което историята помни”.
Така и тази година. Интересен мач дотук няма. Единствено германците ни зарадваха с хубав футбол (!!!!), а швейцарците с приятна изненада. А КНДР… е те за маааааалко да бъзнат бразилеросите.
Футболът на националните отбори върви надолу и това въпреки изравняването на силите. Играе се с мисъл да не губиш, което е напълно нормално, очаквано и правилно ако си КНДР (примерно). Ама да си Кот Д`ивоар, да имаш най-добрите африкански футболисти, и пак да играеш така… Нормално е. Ама скучно. И напълно съвпада с тенденциите на това как вървят последните първенства.
А вселенската глупост, че първенството е в ЮАР няма нужда да се коментира. То там е ясно.

So it is a full day now that Rafa is out of my beloved Liverpool. Even sad, I kind of feel relieved. For Rafa. I can only imagine the pressure, and probably the frustration this fine,fine gentleman had to live in last 10 months. And not to mention the last two which were total bullshit in terms of comments and gossip.

It is an absolute shame and disgrace when the so called “pundits” or “journalists” doesn’t do their homework. It is even worse when former players come and criticize Benitez without even having remotely similar success being managers themselves.

What strikes me in today’s media is the lazy, lazy journalism. Especially in football. Nobody does their research. Everyone is looking for a scapegoat. And usually it is the one that doesn’t fit the environment. Most of the times the one that actually stands tall, has balls, you name it. Football media this days is an altar where players, managers, club administrators, etc are being sacrificed to the bloodthirsty mob.

The money that football started generating changed the rules of the game. It is different now. And I am still not sure about the quality of the game itself. But surely the media went downhill.

And there you have a person. A mare mortal. That happened to be a manager of a popular football club. Or should I say THE manager of THE BEST club ever. What is unique about him is that he has balls to stand up for what he believes is right. Or with him being a Spanish, should I say “cojones” If you look at today’s football, there are not too many managers that have these. Not with the money invested. Not with the crazy people/owners/etc that invest these money into the clubs. Not with the circus that the football media is. And just like anywhere, not only in football, the price you pay if you have balls is the vultures that are waiting for the sign of weakness. And vultures there are many in football.

And there was weakness. And the time of the vultures arrived. So be it.

What I will remember is the football brain behind the team in the last 6 years. The beauty of watching a team that plays a game of football that is not only based on heart and passion but also on a well thought plan. Don’t get me wrong. Football is all about passion. But the real greatness is reached when you put a brain alongside the passion. And Rafa put so much brain. And I thank him for that. The wins, the magnificent nights – these were great. But seeing the team improve, seeing it playing like one was much better And I am grateful.

Now a new day arrives for a Liverpool Football Club. A day that is darker, I am afraid. Not because we lost a great manager. There aren’t that many great managers out there but we will still find one (as long as it is not Martin O’Neil ). Still. But because with every single day passed, with all of the debt placed on it, this Club is heading to oblivion. And Rafa was one of the few inside it that worked to prevent it from happening.

Thank you Rafa! For everything. You Will Never Walk Alone!

So it is hard time for Liverpool supporters. Or so they say. We are supposed to have two minds – should we win against Chelsea and give ManU a pretty good chase for their record title (considering that Steve “the whiner” Bruce doesn’t stand a chance with any team he manages against Sir Alex) but still keep our slim hopes (I would rather say nonexistent) of reaching first. Or just lose to Chelsea and rejoice on ManU being second.

So they say…

But I don’t get. In my mind, a soccer fan, regardless of the team he/she supports, will never, ever want their team to lose. Or at least if you don’t live in Bulgaria

I want Liverpool to win. And if this means ManU wins a record English title, so be it.

Въпреки, че Интер ми е най-антипатичния италиански отбор, точно в момента страшно много се радвам за тях. Все пак Барса е един от двата ми най-омразни отбора и е приятно да ги видя размазани.
Интер владееше 24% от топката в целия полуфинал тази вечер. Аз всъщност не помня да съм гледал друг подобен мач между отбори на едно ниво, в който единия отбор просто да не се е срещнал с топката, така както Интер днес я виждаше от дъжд на вятър.
И все пак – Интер са на финал, а Барса не.
За любителите на футболната “романтика”, за които Барса са най-прекрасното нещо от както футбола е измислен, мога само да кажа да си стоят в техните пясъчни кули.
Да, Барса играе страхотно и красиво. Срещу Арсенал. Срещу нещастните отборчета в испанската лига, които поради множество обективни фактори имат 1/10 от техния бюджет и като резултат не могат да извадят равностойни играчи.
Но когато срещу тях излезе тактически грамотен отбор с ясна идея, че няма нужда да се играе така, че Барса да блести, “любимите” каталунци имат нужда от норвежки съдия за да може да си спечелят купата. Или ако случайно няма такъв, ами губят…
Защото, “чистата” и “свята” Барса днес показа всичко неспортсменско, в което идеалистите обвиняват обикновенно италиянците. То не бяха симулации, лежане, провокиране на съдията, та за финал със смешното пускане на уредбата за поливане на стадиона, та Интер да се изнасят и да не празнуват.
А ето още малко четиво, което доста добре показва, че в днешния футбол няма светци…
